Florida Addiction & Recovery Center offers special programs for those who need more specific treatments and therapies. Our co-occurring disorders treatment program is designed to help clients who suffer from a combination of both substance abuse and mental health disorders.
Mental health disorders and substance abuse often occur simultaneously. The disorder may occur first, but it is almost always the case that one condition led directly to the other. People who suffer from depression or anxiety may begin to self-medicate, and before long, they become dependent on their substance of choice. It doesn’t take long before dependence leads to addiction.
People with a history of alcoholism or drug addiction may find that they develop a mental health disorder. It is difficult to determine whether the addiction caused the mental illness, or whether some individuals are more prone to a combination of the two health issues, but it is always clear when the individual could benefit from dual diagnosis treatment.
In order to make a full recovery, addicts who suffer from a mental health disorder require specialized treatment at an addiction treatment center. We prescribe medication to help patients manage their mental health disorder in the most effective way possible. In addition to medication, clients engage in intensive therapy programs at our luxury treatment facility, where they learn how to manage the emotional strain of a mental health disorder without drugs or alcohol.
The addiction treatment programs at Florida Addiction & Recovery Center address all aspects of substance abuse and mental health problems. Our therapists conduct thorough assessments of clients before they begin treatment, developing a customized plan to meet their needs. Then, they use integrated methods for co-occurring disorders to treat any underlying issues that may be affecting the individual. Those with dual diagnoses will be enrolled in a special treatment plan that combines addiction and mental health therapies.
At Florida Addiction & Recovery Center, we offer integrated treatments for addiction in conjunction with the following co-occurring mental health issues: depression, bipolar disorder, mood disorders, personality disorders, anxiety, grief, secondary eating issues, and psychological trauma. Our program integrates addiction and mental health treatments so that clients can heal all aspects of their lives. We offer drug and alcohol treatment programs, and outpatient therapies to help our patients commit to sobriety and good health. Methods like the 12-step program, nutrition and addiction therapies, and even a family program are designed to treat the individual.
